According to 12-year-old Namira, there’s nothing more alluring than the siren song of a Vancouver Island mud puddle.
It’s a lesson her pet parent and Animal Care Expert, Brooke Gibbon, learned in Pacific Rim National Park while hiking the Canso Plane Crash trail to see a downed military plane from 1945 — an accident from which all 12 passengers escaped unharmed. “It was impossibly muddy, but she had such a fun time!” says Brooke, who thought ahead and packed shampoo.
